Delicate As A Violin
Description
Violin spiders are known for their shy, nocturnal nature and the distinctive violin-shaped marking on their cephalothorax.
They are one of the few medically significant spiders found in South Africa and play an important role in controlling insect populations.
Despite their reputation, they are rarely aggressive, and encounters with people are uncommon.
Its slender, delicate legs are as graceful as the strings of a violin, making the common name seem even more fitting.
